Many times we do not need all the data returned by report. For better analysis we want to see only limited amount of data. This can be achieved by using filter in report query. Restricting data using filters has advantages as
· Filters can ensure you get only that data which are interests of you also helps to analyze the data in better way as limited data can help you focus.
· Restricting data will help to improve the performance as only small amount of data is returned to document
Following Type of filters can be used in report to restrict the data.
Predefined query filters: These are nothing but condition object created at universe side.
Query Filters: These query filters created at query filter pane of web intelligence query panel. If report users have rights to modify query they can create/edit query filters on their own. Following types of query filters can be created in web intelligence.
Single value/Multi Value filters: These types of filters helps user to filter data using single or multiple values.
Prompt Filters: These filters lets user choose the value to be filtered on at the runtime of report.
