Good Books to Understand Databases

We all have learned databases on college and I am sure you still want to understand it in a more deeper way including some basics which learned during college. Database books are which explains databases using mathematical notations are pretty hard to understand and generally readers will put the book on shelf after reading few books.

MS Access data to Oracle Migration.

Many times we come across a situation which requires us to migrate data from MS ACCESS. MS SQL Server to Oracle. However many proprietary tools are available for this. But I would recommend SQL Developer. Its migration component is very good and fast.

Oracle 10g : Table monitoring and STATISTICS_LEVEL

Many of us use Oracle in there day to day software engineers life and many of us might have used Oracle 9i’s MONITORING ALTER TABLE ... MONITORING clause to monitor the table for DML operations on table. However with the death of CBO (Cost Based Optimizer) in Oracle 10g, MONITORING clause is also gone.
